Transfer Test Tricky Vocabulary

Transfer Test Tricky vocabulary aims to boost your child’s vocabulary using key Transfer Test skills. The SEAG GL tests require your child to have a wide range of vocabulary to achieve a high mark. As teachers we are constantly encouraging our students to read more in order to boost their vocabulary. The more you read, the more words you will know! However, what if your child is a reluctant reader and you know that their range of vocabulary is holding them back in practice papers?

This is where Transfer Test Tricky Vocabulary can help!

We have chosen 150 of the most difficult words from past papers.
Your child will be asked to investigate 5 words per week. They will also add one tricky word from their own weekly reading.
Your child will identify if the word is a noun, verb, adjective or adverb.
They will write a definition for the word, use it in a sentence and identify antonyms, synonyms and rhyming words.

This thorough investigation of each word is the key to learning and retaining new words but will also allow them to practise key SEAG Transfer Test skills.

SEAG Style Level 1, 2, and 3 Practice Papers

On Target SEAG Style Level 1 Practice Papers are based on the the SEAG GL format and are written by On Target Resources. The format is a mixture of multiple choice and free response answers.

**Level 3 Set 8 now contains the practice section at the beginning of the SEAG tests. This is perfect for revision in the final month before the tests and will get your child used to the exact format they will encounter on the day of the tests.

Level 1 is the easiest of our staged difficulty levels. These papers will allow you to introduce your child gradually to the SEAG curriculum and format. Level 1 contains reduced content and timings compared to Level 2 and Level 3 papers. (All papers in Level 1 are the same difficulty level)

Transfer Test Mock for SEAG

SEAG Transfer Test Mock 2026

Our SEAG Transfer Test Mock is for both current On Target Tuition students and non On Target students.

In order to help combat nerves, On Target Tuition are offering parents a mock Transfer Test on Saturday 3rd October, Saturday 10th October and 24th October 2026.

We will provide:

An unseen specially written paper which will test your child’s ability in the Transfer Test curriculum. This paper has been updated to reflect the SEAG GL Specifications.
Detailed feedback on their performance. This includes a list of topics that your child needs to practise before sitting the real test.
The feedback given will be detailed and emailed to you within 3 working days. It will allow you to see clearly which questions and topics need revision. We will suggest any techniques that may help and highlight any bad habits. The feedback will include the questions from the test for your information. The test paper will be posted to you, so you can go over any mistakes with your child.
We will recreate the feel of the actual test. This will give your child a realistic idea of what it will be like including getting them used to listening and carrying out the instructions of the invigilator.

We hope that the experience will put them at ease and mean that they approach the Transfer Tests confident and relaxed.

**What if I need to cancel my child’s booking?

You can cancel and receive a full refund up to 14 days before your child’s mock test. This allows us to offer the place to someone else. Any cancellations after this 14 day period cannot be refunded.
